I definitely recommend this printer for those that are cost conscious without taking away most features found on similar higher-end basic printers. The instructions that come with it, or found on the Brother support site, has a clear step by step guide for doing this. It does come with software, but the mac version is outdated (not compatible with current Mac OS)and you will have to do it manually this way. Setup is ok for having to connect it directly to the computer and access the webpage used to configure it. I only had it about a month with moderate use so far. The printer works consistently and so far I have no issues or jams to clear out. The only drawback is whichever system you set up for that must be running if you want to use that feature. To have that feature built in usually bumps up printer prices far beyond that.

I did donate $10 for computer software (handyprint) that makes any printer I have AirPrint compatible for use with my iPhone. But at the price I got it (Under $80), it is well worth it. The printer has duplex and is wireless, but the features do stop there. The quality is pretty good for the speed and lack of color. We purchased the printer so we could cut down on color costs as it only prints in monochrome. The Brother HL-2270DW is the best low end printer that I found to date!
